James Wardhaugh

James Wardhaugh - Bio

 

James was born in western Canada, spending the first two years of his life in Edmonton and Saskatoon. He then moved to Ontario, where he grew up, completed his education and discovered his passion for glassblowing. James always demonstrated artistic ability, an appreciation of nature and a love of the great outdoors. He discovered the perfect fit for his talents and interests when he entered the visual arts program at the Haliburton School of Art. He initially studied painting and drawing but was drawn to glassblowing, and soon chose it as his specialty.James went on to complete an advanced diploma in glassblowing in Sheridan College’s Craft and Design progam. James has participated in exhibitions throughout Ontario and is represented by galleries across Canada. He currently lives in Merrickville where he is a resident artist and glassblower for Gray Art Glass. People are drawn to James’s work; his aesthetic is elegant and simple. They are highly organic, like the natural world that inspires him and the medium he loves.
