Valentina Zimina- Bio

World travelling had always been my greatest passion.

I am most attracted to old cultures.

When I lived in Russia, I travelled through some areas of the ancient Silk Road: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Seeing ancient architecture, vibrant bazaars and people wearing ethnic clothes, made me appreciate the beauty of the world.

I found it especially thrilling that the objects which were made by hand hundreds of years ago, be it a hand-span rug or a pair of earrings, can still be warn now and remain a part of a family heritage.

Visiting places where I can experience the world history through architecture, textile, jewelry and timeless hand made objects, made me feel like a time traveler.

When I visit places like Venice, Jaipur or Kyoto, I try to bring back something I can incorporate into my world.

As a result of my latest trip to Morocco, I created a collection of beaded necklaces where I used African vintage beads to create necklaces made with modern materials like nylon mesh.

When I travel, I like to have a few pieces of jewelry, but refuse to carry heavy or really expensive pieces with me. So I had to create something that has both elements: visual beauty and playful attitude!

Therefore, my banner: "You don't have to travel the World to look like a Word Traveler!"

I hope you like my "Jewels4Travel" collection!
